Our friend Art has been in town all week with a rented bike since day 1, but due to other activities and the rainy weather he had yet to take it out on trails. That said, yesterday we made a concerted effort to get out on the trails as quickly as possible after work. We decided to hit local Heil Ranch, and what a nice treat it was. The Wild Turkey trail in particular, and if it is any indication of what the Picture Rock Trail is going to be like, I for one can’t wait for the Picture Rock trail to be completed. Anybody local should come on out on National Trails Day and help make it happen, sooner than later.
With all the rain we have had lately the forest was incredible green and flowers were blooming everywhere. It was a good day to be out, and I was surprised that we didn’t run into more people on such a fine day. Oh well, that made for a bombing downhill with very few stops for people climbing up the trail.
