Last weekend we added A-Basin to our list of favourite places to ski. This weekend we visited an “old” favourite of ours: Blue Sky Basin at Vail. When we go to Vail, the first thing we seem to do is make the long haul over to Blue Sky, and once there, we stay.
We dropped into Blue Sky Basin somewhere between Steep & Deep and Skree Field, we skied down to the bottom, looked back up at our tracks and realized: Last year coming down this way it was almost over our heads. Not this year. We have come a long way in our journey into Telemark bliss. This being our 3rd season on Telemark planks. Jen in particular has found great form and balance. While I search for balance, stability and an edge, she gets into her stable power stance and shreds down the mountain, whether it be on crud, ice, or through powder. I love it!
