Saturday we checked out the trails at 8,000 ft and found lots of snow on north facing aspects between the trees. On Sunday we decided to check out the roads at an even higher elevation (10,000 ft) and as it turns out: There is lots of snow to be found at that elevation too, even on the paved roads. Our destination for Sunday was Brainard Lake but with only about a mile or so to go before reaching the lake we ran into snow drifts all across the road and had to turn around.

We may not have reached our destination but we had a great ride and by the end of the day we had been out on the bikes for 5 hours, climbed 5,600 ft and ridden 63 miles.
