After “Stick it to the little man” last year at Jackson Hole I was sure of one thing: I was going to be back at Jackson Hole with Jen. The skiing here is nothing like the skiing at the local resorts in Colorado; the terrain is much steeper and challenging, the back country access is abundant, and I wanted Jen to experience it first hand. This past easter weekend we made it happen.
We drove up to Jackson Hole Thursday after work and skied all of Friday and Saturday. Sunday we only skied half a day in order to make it back to Boulder before too late. While it is a long drive from Boulder to Jackson Hole it was well worth it. We got one of the seasons very best powder days as well as one of the most beautiful clear calm bluebird days in return for our travel.
We brought home several pictures from our Jackson Hole trip, although none from our Friday powder day. We were too busy skiing to stop even for a few seconds. Saturday, however, we hiked the Headwall first thing in the morning and got some good shots. The Headwall had been closed the day before due to visibility and avalanche risk so there was plenty of untouched powder to be found here. The picture below of Elliot coming down the Headwall I thought deserved a special “treatment”
PS: You can’t see it in the picture, but under pressure from Jen and I, Elliot opted for telemark gear the 2 days we skied with him and he had a great time!

Jesper – awesome stuff. JH is my favorite mountain for skiing, it’s HUGE!
Beautiful pictures.
