Our dogs are lucky dogs. Literally. At least I tend to think so. Compared to dogs with owners that have to go to an office away from home, our dogs are lucky. Those other dogs are home alone for the most of the week. Both Jen and I work from home, so we are around the dogs most of the time during the work week. Now, come weekends, we do often take off on all day mountain bike trips, all day ski trips, or all day hikes in areas where you can’t bring dogs; such as National Parks. Why you can’t bring them there I still don’t understand, but that’s a different topic.

I think its a fair trade for the dogs. 5 days versus 2 days. Truth be told, though, we do take the dogs out for the weekend adventures too, but in the case we don’t or can’t, we try to get them tired and wanting to rest in the comfort of our home. Tonight we went for a walk / fast hike around Coot lake; one of the local dogs havens, as we know we’ll be leaving the dogs when we go skiing tomorrow…
